China is rich in water resources and is also affected by floods. How to make full use of resources and reduce the impact of disasters depends on water conservancy projects to play an active role. Major water conservancy projects are important means to strengthen the prevention and control of floods and droughts, optimize the allocation of water resources, improve the water ecological environment, and promote the coordinated development of river basins and regions. They play an irreplaceable basic role in ensuring national water security. The person in charge of the Ministry of Water Resources said that in 2021, we will push forward the construction of major water conservancy projects with high standards, accelerate the construction of 150 major water conservancy projects, and strive to start construction early and more.

The 150 major water conservancy projects include five types of projects including flood control and disaster reduction, optimal allocation of water resources, irrigation water saving and water supply, water ecological protection and restoration, and smart water conservancy. According to reports, after the implementation of these projects, it is estimated that about 9 billion cubic meters of flood control storage capacity will be added, the length of the river course will be about 2,950 kilometers, the new irrigation area will be about 28 million mu, and the annual water supply capacity will be increased by about 42 billion cubic meters.

Water conservancy construction is an important market for construction machinery products. The state's key policy support for water conservancy construction will directly drive the demand for construction machinery products such as excavators, loaders, bulldozers, concrete machinery, and cranes.
