On September 25, 2019, the launching ceremony of the CMA CGM Group “Dafei Jacques Sade” was held at the Changxing Island Base of Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd. This is the world's first 23,000-TEU ultra-large container ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). The ship has a total length of 400 meters and a width of 61.3 meters. It is classified into the French Classification Society (BV). The deck area is equal to four standard football fields. The service speed is 22 knots, the load capacity is 23,000 TEU, and it can carry 2200 40. The ft. reefer container, with a load capacity of nearly 220,000 tons, is a veritable sea giant.

In addition, she has a unique "green heart." The ship is fitted with a 18,600 cubic meter MK III membrane fuel tank. Thanks to the LNG power design, the most stringent emission requirements are now fully met and the ship's Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) meets the third stage standard. Compared with the same type of fuel-powered tanker, the ship's carbon dioxide emissions in a single voyage is reduced by about 20%, nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced by 85%, and particulate matter and sulfur oxide emissions are reduced by 99%.

Today, as environmental issues become more prominent, CMA CGM Group is the first to announce the decommissioning of the Arctic Channel to protect the Arctic homes where unique, unknown biological species depend. In fact, as a green pioneer in the shipping industry, the CMA CGM Group has reduced CO2 emissions per carrier carried by 50% during the first decade of 2005-2015. The group's new goal is to further reduce carbon emissions by 30% by 2025. Since 2015, CMA CGM Group has successfully reduced its carbon intensity by 17%.

The MK III membrane fuel tank is the key device for LNG power and is recognized as a high-end or even extreme manufacturing sector. As the only domestic enterprise capable of independently manufacturing MK III membrane fuel tanks, Hudong Zhonghua is faced with foreign technical blockades, is not afraid, insists on independent innovation, concentrates on R&D and manufacturing, and has overcome the three-dimensional coordinate laser positioning and secondary shielding adhesion. More than a dozen technical bottlenecks, such as corrugated board welding, and the first time to create a miracle of the zero-drainage point of the secondary shielding test, the industry is amazed.
