On October 26, 2019, Xue Bing, Ambassador of Papua New Guinea, was invited to Solomon Islands to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Jinling Gold Mine. Prime Minister Sogawari, Foreign Minister Manele, Minister of Culture and Tourism Paragua, Mining and Weiha, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Energy, and the deputy governor of Guadalcanal, Rina and the chief of the Jinling community, attended the meeting.
Ambassador Xue Bing gave a speech to congratulate the construction of the gold mine project, indicating that this project is an important early harvest of the establishment of diplomatic relations. The establishment of diplomatic relations between China and China provides a solid political guarantee for the economic and trade investment activities of the two countries. Solomon Islands is China's largest trading partner in the Pacific island countries. The two countries are highly complementary and have great potential for cooperation. The Jinling mine project is located in a remote area with inconvenient transportation. Chinese enterprises are not afraid of difficulties and actively undertake mining tasks and establish a good image of Chinese enterprises. Xue encouraged Chinese companies to continue to work closely with relevant departments to get the project to go into production as soon as possible and to better benefit the two countries and the two peoples.

Prime Minister Sogawari greeted Ambassador Xue at the groundbreaking ceremony and reiterated his firm adherence to the one-China policy. Suo said that the output value of the Jinling mine project accounted for nearly 30% of the Solomon Islands' GDP, but the operation of Western countries led to intensification of community conflicts and eventually had to be abandoned. Chinese enterprises have overcome many difficulties and successfully achieved full-scale construction. This has produced positive demonstration effects for all sectors and is expected to see more projects involving Chinese participation in the future.

The Chief of Jinling Community also presented the traditional tribal gifts such as coconut, sugar cane and cassava to Prime Minister Sogavale and Ambassador Xue Bing. Thanks to the project for bringing benefits to the community and improving infrastructure, and wishing the friendship between the two countries lasting.
Solomon Islands Jinling Mine is currently the largest gold mine and integrated infrastructure project, invested and operated by Wanguo International Mining Group Co., Ltd., China Railway International Group Co., Ltd. and China Railway 10th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. participated in the construction.

On October 27, Ambassador Xue Bing, a ambassador to Papua New Guinea, met with Prime Minister Sogawari at the Prime Minister's residence in Solomon Islands. Counselor Yao Ming, head of the Chinese Embassy's pavilion team, was present.

Ambassador Xue congratulated Prime Minister Sogavale on his successful visit to China 18 days after the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Singapore. Xue said that the government's recognition of the one-China principle and the establishment of diplomatic relations with China is a correct decision to conform to the historical trend and reflects the strategic vision and political courage of the Prime Minister. In recent years, China's relations with the Pacific island countries have developed rapidly, and the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation are broad. It is an important country in the region. Under the guarantee of diplomatic relations between the two countries, exchanges and cooperation in the political, economic, social, cultural, and humanities fields will be fully carried out. Within a short period of one month after the establishment of diplomatic relations, the Chinese side sent an expert group to the office to discuss the next step of work with the parties and achieved good results. The construction team sent by the Chinese government has been working in the field and has received strong support from the government and various departments. It is hoped that both sides will implement the results of the Prime Minister’s visit to China and bring tangible benefits to the two peoples.

Sogavale said that his current visit to China witnessed the tremendous development achievements of the People's Republic of China in the 70 years since its founding, and truly understood how China maintains political stability and achieves rapid development under the leadership of the Communist Party of China. Fang Xi learns to learn from China's successful experience and achieve its own progress and prosperity. The visit to China opened up a new vision of the government and further consolidated the relationship between China and China. I am even more proud of the correct decision to establish diplomatic relations with China. The great initiative of the Belt and Road proposed by President Xi Jinping has brought tremendous opportunities to the parties. More and more Chinese companies are coming to invest and develop their businesses. The two sides are willing to work with China to create a new future for China.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Sogawari set up a family banquet to host Ambassador Xue and his party. Ambassador Xue also met with Foreign Minister Manele and exchanged views on the specific issues of China-Singapore relations and reached consensus. During the period, Ambassador Xue visited and greeted the Chinese overseas Chinese and Chinese-funded enterprise employees, and held discussions with them to understand their working and living conditions, to announce their relations and China's relevant policy propositions.
