It is understood that the project route is 82 kilometers in length (40.8 kilometers in the Red River section, 41.2 kilometers in the Wenshan section, and 34.5 kilometers in the Wenshan section under construction). It is constructed in accordance with the standard of a two-way four-lane expressway, with a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour, a roadbed width of 25.5 meters, and bridges and culverts. The design vehicle load class adopts highway-I level. Simultaneously construct 3 interchanges connecting lines of 9.77 kilometers, of which the Basa overpass connecting line adopts the first-level highway standard construction, and the total length of the route is 2.83 kilometers; the bridgehead overpass connecting line adopts the third-level highway standard construction, and the total length of the line is 1.22 kilometers; Renhe interchange connection The line adopts the second-level highway standard construction, and the total length of the line is 5.72 kilometers.

There are 4 extra-long bridges, 76 bridges, and 15 medium and small bridges across the line; 3 extra-long tunnels, 10 long tunnels, 4 medium tunnels, and 9 short tunnels are set up; the bridge-to-tunnel ratio is 75.7%; 6 interchanges are set up, There are 6 separate grade separations and other necessary traffic engineering and facilities along the route. The estimated total investment of the project is 15.19 billion yuan, including 8.61 billion yuan in the Honghe section and 6.58 billion yuan in the Wenshan section.

It is reported that the Hekou-Maguan Expressway in Yunnan Province is located in the southeast of Yunnan Province. An important part of one side of the "Ring Twenty Link" expressway network (the expressway along the border) is also one of the key projects for the construction of interconnected expressways in Yunnan Province. The project is connected to the G8011 Kaiyuan-Hekou Expressway of the National High-speed Network in the west (that is, the highway along the edge to the Hekou common line), and the northeast is connected to the Maguan to Xichou section of the border expressway and the Maguan to Malipo planned expressway. It is a fast route connecting the borders of Yunnan Province, and an important economic route connecting Honghe Prefecture and Wenshan Prefecture to the border areas. Deng Liangcheng, director of the State Transportation Bureau, stated that he will take the construction of the Hekou-Maguan Expressway (contracted section in Wenshan Prefecture) as an opportunity to take effective measures to speed up project construction, truly do it in practice, take the lead, and implement it for Wenshan Prefecture.
