Russia is planning major highway projects, including a new highway connecting Dzhubga and Sochi, and a major interchange project in St. Petersburg.
The new highway between Jubuga and Sochi will extend along the coast of the Black Sea and is expected to be completed in 2035. The project still needs to be approved by the Russian government, and funds must be obtained to pay for the project. Due to the challenging terrain and geology of some routes, the project was initially estimated to cost more than 21 billion U.S. dollars. Alignment options that can help reduce costs are being considered.

At the same time, Poklonnaya Gora on the north side of St. Petersburg is considering a new interchange design. Design work is currently underway, and the goal is to complete the construction work in 2024. The project is expected to cost US$286 million and includes the construction of a tunnel that will run under Engels Avenue. Editor/Xu Shengpeng
