According to reports, Yecheng General Airport is a key construction project in the autonomous region in 2022. The Development and Reform Commission of the autonomous region and the Civil Aviation Xinjiang Administration have given strong support in project planning, site selection, approval, and funding. The project is an A1 general-purpose airport planned and constructed to meet the needs of the development of the aviation industry in Xinjiang and the improvement of the general aviation network layout and the economic and social development situation of Yecheng County. . The construction period is 2 years, and it will be completed and opened to navigation by the end of 2023.

Gu Xuecheng, director of the Yecheng County Transportation Bureau, said: "Today, the construction of our Yecheng General Airport project is an extraordinary day for us Yecheng traffic people, marking the transition from a purely ground-based model to land-based transportation infrastructure in Yecheng County. The Yecheng General Airport Project is a good supplement to the existing transportation network and is the largest single-invested transportation infrastructure project in the history of Yecheng County.
