In the vast mining fields of Guinea, a steel giant dragon crosses mountains and seas. The iconic West African heavy-duty railway, constructed by CR21G, from Maribaya Port in Guinea to the Simandou mining area, continues to upgrade its railway operations, continuously delivering local mineral resources to the global market.

The main railway line from Maribaya Port in Guinea to the Simandou mining area has a total length of 551.92 kilometers and a designed annual transportation capacity of 220 million tons, opening up a key channel for Guinea's mineral resources to go abroad. In January 2024, CR21G Electric Power Company won the bid for MXSD1 section, responsible for the construction of the three electricity projects and tunnel wind turbine power supply for a 231 kilometer line, with a project contract amount of 1.51 billion yuan. The construction team directly faced the problems of high temperature rainstorm and complex geology in West Africa, completed the main works of EIC in advance, and the line was officially put into operation on November 11, 2025. Since its opening, the operation and maintenance team has dynamically adjusted the plan, expanded the formation, increased the frequency of departures, and achieved a dual improvement in heavy load traffic and ore transportation. The project has trained more than 260 local workers in Guinea, cultivated 86 local technical backbones, and selected 15 college students to go abroad for experience, providing talent support for Guinea's independent railway operation and maintenance, and becoming a benchmark project for modern infrastructure in West Africa.Editor/Min Jing
