Linde and UAE sign MoU on green hydrogen economy

Linde signed a memorandum of understanding with the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure to identify and develop projects that contribute to the MOEI 2050 Energy Strategy and the UAE Net Zero Initiative to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. Joint projects will focus on four main areas: hydrogen mobility, carbon capture and storage, green hydrogen production through electrolysis, and hydrogen and natural gas blending.

The UAE delegation was welcomed at Linde's offices in Prach, Germany, by lurgen Nowicki, Executive Vice President of Linde Engineering and CEO of Linde Engineering, Andreas Bieringer, Head of Linde Gas Middle East, and Philippe PECCARD, Vice President of Clean Energy .

Sharif Olama, UAE's Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, said the UAE recognises clean energy as a key pillar of sustainable development and a priority for the country, which the UAE seeks to accelerate in line with our Net Zero ambition and the UAE Hydrogen Leadership Roadmap Adopt the latest innovations to combat climate change and accelerate the energy transition.
