With the development of cities in Tajikistan, the need for rapid rail transit is becoming more and more prominent. It is reported that Tajikistan is considering various plans to build a subway in the capital. Domestic engineers are working with South Korean experts to study the features of Dushanbe's terrain and will decide whether this mode of transport is necessary for Dushanbe residents, the ministry said.

At the same time, engineers are examining engineering geology to determine how to lay subway lines - tunnels, surface or elevated tracks. The Ministry of Transport and the Korea National Railway Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding on the construction of the metro in Dushanbe in March 2022. The first branch will connect the Dushanbe South Gate to the Circus area via the ground.

In 2017, the Tajik government approved the "high-speed tram" project by the GIPROGOR Design Institute in Moscow. In addition, tower experts have proposed the construction of a monorail along the Dushanbe River connecting the north and south of the capital.

In the next three years, the tower will be built using 317 km of international roads, 32 Bridges, 5 11.2-km long tunnels and 7 anti-avalanche corridors, and the implementation of these road projects aims to transform the tower into a transit transport country.

In his State of the Nation address on December 23, 2022, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon said that according to the Global Road Quality ranking released by the World Economic Forum in 2019, Tajik ranked 50th out of 138 countries. Rahmon pointed out that this achievement was mainly due to the efforts made by the tower in the construction of the transportation sector.

In 2022, the Tower launched three road rehabilitation projects, including the Dangara-Bokhtar Road (29 km) and the Dushanbe-Kulma Road (93 km) in the Kalaihumb-Wanji section of Rusan District. In addition, the construction of the Rogun-Obigarm-Nurabat (76 km) road and the design of the reconstruction of roads in the villages of Huzhan - Kanibam and Rushan - Khorog - Warshez have also been started.
