The Lancang-Mekong River basin, as an important water resource convergence area in Southeast Asia, carries the livelihood and development of residents in many countries along the coast. However, in this vast land, parts of rural areas in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and other countries have long suffered from water shortages. The problem of engineering water shortage and water quality water shortage has become increasingly prominent, which has become a bottleneck restricting the quality of life of local residents and agricultural development.

In the face of this challenge, the China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research has come forward to form a skilled and experienced technical team for the "Lancang-Mekong Oasis Action". They go into rural areas of the Lancang-Mekong River basin to investigate the situation of local water resources and work closely with local governments and residents to find solutions to water supply challenges.

The technical team found that the water supply facilities in these areas were generally old and badly damaged, and could not meet the basic water needs of local residents. To this end, they have developed a series of practical water supply improvement programs based on local conditions. From the protection of water sources to the improvement of water treatment processes, from the laying of water pipelines to the renewal of water supply facilities, every work embodies the wisdom and sweat of the Chinese team.

In the implementation process, the technical team also actively promoted advanced technologies such as water-saving irrigation and rainwater collection to help local residents improve the efficiency of water resources utilization and achieve sustainable use of water resources. At the same time, they have also strengthened training and guidance for local residents to improve their awareness and ability to protect water resources.

Through the unremitting efforts of the technical team, the water supply situation in some rural areas of the Lancang-Mekong River region has been significantly improved. The clear and sweet spring water continues to pour into thousands of households, bringing unprecedented convenience and development opportunities for local residents. Local residents expressed their gratitude to the help and support of the Chinese team, which helped them bid farewell to the plight of water shortage and usher in a better future.

The story of the LMC technical team is not only a legendary experience of water supply improvement, but also a vivid manifestation of the deep friendship and close cooperation between China and the countries along the Lancang-Mekong River. In the future, China will continue to work with countries in the Lancang-Mekong River region to jointly promote the development of water resources management and protection and make positive contributions to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.
