Recently, the Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Railway Dapeng Branch Line 5 Work Area Project, which was ingeniously built by the central enterprise CCCC Second Engineering Bureau in Wuhan, has made key progress - the left-line shield machine of the shield section from Kuichong Station to Dapeng Station has successfully completed the hoisting and assembly operation, and officially entered the commissioning and acceptance stage, indicating that this section of the project will set sail in July and start the excavation journey.

Shenzhen-Huizhou Intercity Dapeng Branch Line, as an important transportation artery running through the eastern part of Shenzhen, starts from Longcheng Station in Longgang District, passes through Longgang and Pingshan Districts, and finally arrives at Xinda Station in Dapeng New District. The total length of the entire line is 39.4 kilometers, with a designed operating speed of up to 160 kilometers per hour. It adopts advanced intercity railway standards and aims to accelerate regional interconnection.
It is particularly noteworthy that the shield machine used in the section between Kuichong Station and Dapeng Station, located in the core area of Dapeng New District, has a diameter of 9.13 meters. It is not only equipped with an efficient mud-water assisted earth pressure balance system, but also integrates a series of innovative technologies such as mud-assisted pressure maintenance, intelligent monitoring of shield tail gap, accurate prediction of shield attitude and automatic control of synchronous grouting. It is tailored to cope with complex and changeable geological environments to ensure the safety and efficiency of tunnel excavation.
Facing this 123-meter-long behemoth with a total weight of more than 1,300 tons, the project team of CCCC Second Engineering Bureau demonstrated excellent engineering management capabilities. Through repeated verification and precise calculation of the performance of lifting equipment, the safety of slings and the bearing capacity of the on-site foundation, it ensured the safety of the shield machine hoisting and lowering process, demonstrating the technical strength and responsibility of central enterprises in large-scale infrastructure construction.

As a key link in the intercity railway network of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the construction of the Dapeng branch line is not only an important support for Shenzhen's "Eastward Strategy", but also will greatly shorten the commuting time between Dapeng New District and Longgang, Pingshan and other areas to within half an hour after its opening to traffic in the future. Through a convenient transfer system, residents can quickly reach core areas such as Bao'an Airport, Nanshan, and Qianhai, effectively alleviating the traffic pressure in Dapeng New District and promoting the prosperity and development of the regional economy.
In addition, the project has immeasurable strategic significance for promoting the overall progress of intercity railway construction in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, improving the layout of Shenzhen's rail transit network, accelerating the integration of Dapeng New District into the Greater Bay Area and the integrated development of the city's rail transit, and achieving the grand goal of high-quality development of the new district.
