On March 5, 2025, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) officially launched the bidding for the Gold Line subway project, aiming to promote the construction of this new urban transportation artery by introducing top international engineering consulting firms. The golden thread begins in the old city area of Bur Dubai and runs through the commercial bay, global village, Medan, and emerging residential areas of Dubai Park, aiming to alleviate the pressure of the surge in subway pedestrian flow in recent years and further improve the urban rail transit network. This bidding is open to candidates including AECOM from the United States Jacobs、Parsons、 Global renowned companies including AtkinsRealis from Canada and Mott MacDonald from the UK plan to determine the chief consultant in May 2025, marking a crucial step towards Dubai Metro's goal of a total length of 421 kilometers by 2030.

As one of the seven planned routes of Dubai's railway network, the construction of the Golden Line will significantly improve the efficiency of east-west transportation in the city and inject vitality into new development zones. RTA stated that the gold line will complement the existing red and green lines, as well as the blue line under construction and the planned purple line, to jointly build a comprehensive rail transit system covering 197 stations. The analysis points out that this bidding not only demonstrates Dubai's continuous investment in infrastructure upgrades, but also provides an important opportunity for international engineering companies to participate in landmark projects in the Middle East. In the future, with the successive implementation of multiple routes, Dubai is expected to further consolidate its position as a global model of smart cities, providing residents and tourists with more efficient and convenient travel experiences.(This article is from the official website of Jian Dao www.seetao.com.
