Recently, the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) released the preliminary research results of the Phnom Penh Metro project. There are four subway lines planned in Phnom Penh, and the length of each line ranges from 16 kilometers to 29 kilometers. The preliminary research project of the Phnom Penh metro network was carried out based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia and the AIIB in Beijing on September 26, 2024.

At the beginning of March this year, an expert group from the AIIB visited Cambodia and held talks respectively with the leaders of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Cambodia and the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction to conduct in-depth research on the Phnom Penh metro and light rail projects. Before the release of this report, the project preparation and implementation working group had already held its first meeting, and collected opinions at designated locations along the main roads and corridors in Phnom Penh. At the same time, it inspected places such as bus stations, Phnom Penh Railway Station, Phnom Penh International Airport, Techo International Airport, new development zones, and new satellite cities, aiming to determine the priority roads, bridges, and routes for the feasibility study of the construction of the public transportation network in Phnom Penh. (This article is from the official website of Seetao.com, www.seetao.com.
