On June 12, 2025, PowerChina Metropolitan Institute signed a contract for the 53 MW Hydropower Project in Kozelbulak, Kazakhstan, the Photovoltaic New Energy Project in the Dominican Capital Region, and the Unit 4 Replacement Project of the 240 MW Hydropower Station in Glavnaya, Tajikistan.

The Kozelbulak Hydropower Station was signed by the Kazakhstan Hydraulic Design Institute, an overseas holding subsidiary of Chengdu Institute, and the power station is located on the Koksu River in Almaty Oblast, Kazakhstan, and the feasibility study and design of the power station was completed in 2018 and passed the national review. Adopting dam development, the hub project is mainly composed of clay core wall rockfill dam, flood discharge tunnel, diversion tunnel, ground plant, etc., of which the maximum dam height of clay core wall dam is 77.5 meters.

The design contract for the new energy project in Dominica is the first new energy project signed by Chengdu Institute in the country. Dominica is located in the Caribbean Sea, is the largest economy in Central America and the Caribbean, in order to solve the over-dependence on fossil energy, the Dominican government encourages and develops new energy. The project is located in the capital region of Dominica, and the construction content is a photovoltaic power station and corresponding supporting energy storage. After the completion of the project, it will provide stable power to the capital region, reduce carbon emissions, and effectively contribute to the development of Dominica's green economy.

The Gravnaya 240 MW hydropower plant is the core hub of Tajikistan's "North-South Power Corridor", with six units and an annual power generation capacity of 15% of the country's electricity needs. The joint venture formed by Chengdu Institute and the 16th Hydropower Bureau has completed the upgrading and transformation of 5 units with high quality, ensuring the power supply in the southern part of Tajikistan. The Unit 4 (last) replacement project is scheduled to be connected to the grid in April 2027, which will further strengthen PowerChina's leading position in the power market such as new hydropower construction and technical transformation projects in Central Asia.(This article is from the official website of Seetao www.seetao.com.
