On June 17, 2025, China Energy Engineering Jiangsu Institute, together with Jiangsu Electric Power Construction Third Company and Anhui Electric Power Construction Second Company, successfully won the EPC general contracting project for the Jiangyin Sulong 2 × 660000 kW Phase IV expansion project, with a bid amount exceeding 5 billion yuan. After completion, the project will become an important peak shaving power source for Jiangsu power grid, significantly enhancing the new energy consumption capacity and providing solid guarantees for regional energy security.
The project construction includes the construction of two 660000 kW ultra supercritical, secondary reheat coal-fired power generation units, and the simultaneous installation and construction of flue gas desulfurization and denitrification devices. It is planned to be put into operation in 2027. The project is located in the core area of power load in southern Jiangsu, with a deep peak shaving capacity of 15% THA load, which can significantly enhance the peak shaving elasticity and new energy consumption capacity of Jiangsu power grid, and comprehensively improve the reliability of power supply.
After the completion of the project, it will fill the power gap in Wuxi's power grid during the 15th Five Year Plan period and provide key support for the construction of a new power system and new energy system in Jiangsu Province. China Energy Engineering Jiangsu Institute has won the bid for all the projects that have been tendered in the important guarantee and regulatory coal-fired power projects in the middle and later stages of Jiangsu Province's "15th Five Year Plan". As an important participant in Jiangsu Province's "15th Five Year Plan" guaranteed coal-fired power projects, China Energy Engineering Jiangsu Institute continues to promote clean and efficient development of coal-fired power through technological innovation, contributing core strength to the construction of modern energy systems.(This article is from the official website of Jian Dao www.seetao.com.
