Recently, the Industrial Commerce and Information Technology Bureau of Haibei Prefecture, Qinghai Province, announced two highly attractive wind power investment projects. Both projects are located in Gangcha County, which has unique wind resources, with a total installed capacity of up to 1.5 million kilowatts and a planned total investment of 9.3 billion yuan. Both have reached initial strategic cooperation agreements and have broad development prospects.

The first project is a 1 million kilowatt wind power new energy generation project. The project plans to construct and develop wind power new energy with a total capacity of 1 million kilowatts, with a planned investment of 6 billion yuan, and will adopt a wholly-owned cooperative approach. Gangcha County has abundant wind resources, providing a solid guarantee for the smooth implementation of the project. The annual average wind speed here is 3.4 meters per second, with a maximum annual wind speed between 15.9-20.3 meters per second. The average wind speed from March to May can even reach 4.0-4.2 meters per second. Within a year, there are up to 49 days with strong winds (wind force ≥ 8 or instantaneous wind speed ≥ 17 meters/second). Such superior wind conditions make the project have great potential for power generation and economic benefits.

The second project is a 500000 kilowatt integrated power grid load storage project. The project aims to construct a total capacity of 500000 kilowatts and install 80 individual 6.25MW wind turbines. At the same time, a new 330kV collection station and transmission line will be built, with a planned investment of 3.3 billion yuan. The project will also adopt a wholly-owned cooperation model. The project site is the same as the first project, located in Gangcha County. The construction of the integrated project of source grid load storage can achieve the coordinated optimization operation of power supply, power grid, load and energy storage, improve energy utilization efficiency, and enhance the stability and reliability of the power system.

The implementation of these two wind power projects not only helps Qinghai Province accelerate the development and utilization of clean energy, promote energy structure adjustment and transformation upgrading, but also brings significant economic and social benefits to the local area. On the one hand, the construction and operation of the project will create a large number of employment opportunities and promote local economic development; On the other hand, the large-scale development and utilization of clean energy will reduce dependence on traditional fossil fuels, lower carbon emissions, and make positive contributions to addressing climate change.
