Recently, Shanghai Windlink New Energy Co., Ltd. and Brook Construction (2007) Inc. of Canada officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation in Shanghai. Mr. Songmin Cho, Deputy Consul and Trade Commissioner of Canada in Shanghai, was invited to attend and witness this important moment in deepening cooperation between Chinese and Canadian companies in the clean energy sector.
According to the agreement, both parties will prioritize the localization of precast concrete wind turbine tower manufacturing capabilities, focusing on building local manufacturing capabilities for precast concrete wind turbine towers in the Atlantic region of Canada. This move aims to jointly explore the North American wind power market, significantly reduce the construction costs and timelines of Canadian wind power projects, and enhance supply chain resilience.
This cooperation is a model of deep integration between China's advanced green infrastructure technology going global and the market demands and localization experience of developed countries. The Chinese company possesses mature and cost-controllable precast concrete wind turbine tower technology, while the Canadian side has advantages in local manufacturing and market channels, resulting in strong complementarity. Once the project is implemented, it will effectively support the growth of Canadian wind power installations and contribute to its clean energy transition goals. Mr. Songmin Cho, Deputy Consul of Canada in Shanghai, expressed high approval of this cooperation. He pointed out that such pragmatic cooperation not only benefits enterprises from both countries in achieving win-win results in the green economy, but also injects new vitality into China-Canada economic and trade relations. In the future, both sides will also explore collaborative opportunities across a broader clean energy industry chain.Editor/Sunyaxin
