Recently, the launch event for the construction of the Nanchong Guang'an Railway was grandly held at the construction site of Guang'an East Station, marking the official start of this highly anticipated transportation project.

The estimated total investment for the Nanchong Guang'an Railway is 19.715 billion yuan, with a construction period of 4 years. The project is jointly funded and constructed by Shudao Group and Guang'an and Nanchong cities, providing solid support for the project's progress through multi-party cooperation.

From the perspective of route planning, the railway starts from Nanchong North Station and ends at the under construction Guang'an East Station of the West Chongqing High speed Railway, with a total length of 93.8 kilometers, including 84.2 kilometers of newly built main line. Five stations have been carefully planned along the entire line, including the newly built Nanchong Gaoping Station. The existing Nanchong North Station has been utilized to renovate Yuechi Station and Guang'an South Station, and to connect with Guang'an East Station. It is worth mentioning that the Guang'an Qujiang Extra Large Bridge, a controlled project, has a total length of 780 meters and a main span of 400 meters. After completion, it will become the largest railway steel-concrete double tower cable-stayed bridge in Sichuan Province. This project is not only a technical challenge, but also a highlight and iconic building of the project.

The Nanchong Guang'an Railway plays a crucial role in the regional transportation pattern. It is an important component of the rail transit network backbone channel in the Chengdu Chongqing Economic Circle, like a link, closely connecting multiple "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail backbone channels along the Yangtze River, Baotou (Yinchuan) Sea, Beijing Kunming, etc. Its construction will further optimize the structure of Sichuan's railway network, deeply integrate Sichuan into the national high-speed railway network, and enhance its position in the national transportation layout.

After the project is completed, it will bring significant temporal and spatial benefits. The travel time from Nanchong to Chongqing will be shortened to 50 minutes, and from Guang'an to Chengdu will only take 70 minutes, greatly reducing the time and space distance between Guang'an, Nanchong, and the Chengdu Chongqing dual core. This not only provides great convenience for people's travel, but also has a profound impact on regional development. It is conducive to promoting the construction of the Chengdu Chongqing dual city economic circle, promoting the coordinated development of the five districts, and enabling more efficient flow and allocation of resources, talents, industries, and other factors within the region.
