Recently, CSCEC South Africa Co., Ltd. won five consecutive high-quality projects in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and other countries, covering aviation infrastructure, water supply pipelines, biomass power generation, ground station reconstruction, mining area housing construction and other fields. This is a vivid manifestation of Chinese enterprises' active participation in the joint construction of the the Belt and Road in Africa, and inject new impetus into promoting regional connectivity and economic and social development with high standards, sustainable and people friendly infrastructure cooperation.

Kimberley Airport Restoration Project in South Africa

The Kimberley Airport Restoration Project in South Africa is located in Kimberley City, Northern Cape Province. It mainly focuses on the comprehensive renovation of core facilities in the airport's airside area, including the restoration and upgrading of a 6.96-kilometer runway, taxiway, taxiway, and apron. The project will significantly improve the operational safety and efficiency of the airport by comprehensively renovating the pavement structure, drainage system, and navigational lighting facilities. As an important node in the regional aviation network, the upgrade of Kimberley Airport can not only extend the service life of its infrastructure by 10 to 15 years, but also effectively alleviate air traffic pressure, improve flight punctuality and passenger and cargo transportation capacity. During the construction process, the project will adopt localized procurement and management strategies, actively train and hire local labor, strengthen technology transfer, and assist in talent cultivation in the South African civil aviation industry. After the completion of the project, it will further strengthen the accessibility of domestic and international routes in South Africa, promote the development of tourism, trade and related industries in the Northern Cape Province, inject sustained impetus into regional connectivity and economic growth in southern Africa, and is a typical practice of the "the Belt and Road" facility connectivity.

South Namibia Water Supply Pipeline Project

The 37 kilometer water supply pipeline project in southern Namibia is located in Kitmanshup City, Karas District, with the aim of completely replacing the original water supply pipeline that was built in 1971 and has been severely aging, frequently leaking, and rupturing due to long-term service. The project adopts a high-performance fiberglass reinforced plastic (GRP) pipeline system, which has advantages such as corrosion resistance, high pressure resistance, and long service life, and can significantly improve water delivery efficiency and safety. The project is expected to create hundreds of job opportunities for the local area during the construction phase, and provide training on pipeline installation and maintenance skills to enhance the long-term employment capacity of the community workforce. After completion, it will effectively solve the drinking water safety problem that has plagued tens of thousands of local residents for decades, ensure the water demand for agriculture and animal husbandry, and promote social stability and economic development in Kitmanshup and surrounding areas. The project is not only an important achievement breakthrough of CSCEC in the field of long-distance water transportation, but also a vivid embodiment of promoting the improvement of people's livelihood and achieving the goal of sustainable development under the framework of jointly building the the Belt and Road.

DF Electrical Biomass Power Plant Project in Namibia

The DF Electrical biomass power plant project in Namibia is located in the Oshikoto district, covering the construction of the main plant, steel structure engineering, earthwork, and outdoor supporting facilities. The power plant uses local agricultural waste and forestry residues as the main fuel, and achieves efficient resource utilization through clean energy technology, reducing dependence on fossil fuels. After the completion of the project, it will effectively alleviate the regional power shortage problem and provide stable and renewable power supply for surrounding communities and industrial users. During the construction and operation process, the project focuses on ecological protection and community participation, prioritizes the procurement of local materials and services, and establishes a special fund to support environmental governance and livelihood improvement in surrounding villages. This power plant is not only a key project for Namibia to promote energy structure transformation, but also lays a solid foundation for low-carbon development, creating green employment, and promoting circular economy models in the northern region.

Namibia North Explosion Ground Station Renovation Project

The North Explosion Ground Station Renovation Project in Namibia is located in Swakopmund City, Elongo Province, and is a key facility supporting the Hushan uranium mine. The project includes the renovation of the original factory structure, the construction of a high standard laboratory and explosion-proof cofferdam, the comprehensive upgrade of anti-corrosion and intelligent security systems, as well as the laying of outdoor mechanical and electrical pipelines and the installation of production equipment. By introducing automation control and green production processes, the project will greatly enhance the reliability, efficiency, and environmental friendliness of explosive production. This project is another key project since the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement between China State Construction Engineering Corporation and Beibao Nano Company, reflecting the deep mutual trust between the two sides in the upgrading of mining facilities and safety production. During the project execution, emphasis is placed on technology transfer and localized operations to cultivate industrialization and safety management talents for Namibia. After completion, it will significantly strengthen the localization guarantee capability of the Hushan uranium mine supply chain and promote sustainable development of the mining industry.

Botswana Komakao Copper Mine Housing Construction EPC Project

Botswana Komakao Copper Mine Housing Construction EPC Project is located in Toten City, entrusted by Minmetals Corporation of China, and contracted by CSCEC in the general contracting mode of design, procurement and construction, including a modern staff canteen and a multi-functional sports complex. The cafeteria will be equipped with energy-saving kitchen equipment and a comfortable dining environment to meet different dietary habits and nutritional needs; The sports complex building includes a gym, basketball court, and leisure area, greatly enriching the leisure cultural life of employees. The project implements the concept of green building during the design phase, using local environmentally friendly materials and passive energy-saving technologies to minimize operational energy consumption. This project not only directly improves the quality of work and life of mining area employees, enhances corporate cohesion, but also serves as an example for Chinese enterprises to promote the deep integration of "hard connectivity" and "heart connectivity" in Africa. Through EPC full chain services, CSCEC further consolidated its reputation in the high-end housing construction market in Africa, and demonstrated the core value of people-oriented and common development in the the Belt and Road cooperation.

From the comprehensive repair of Kimberley Airport in South Africa to the thorough replacement of aging water supply pipelines in southern Namibia; From the construction of biomass power plants to promote green development, to the transformation of ground stations to improve the safety production level of mines, to the construction of sports complex buildings to improve the life of mining staff, each project carries the beautiful vision of jointly building the the Belt and Road. After these projects are completed, they will effectively improve the local infrastructure level, create a large number of job opportunities, improve the living conditions of residents, and provide strong support for the industrialization process and sustainable development of African countries.
