Recently, a 300 MW solar power station pile foundation pouring ceremony was held in the Turkestan region of Kazakhstan, marking the full entry of the project into the main construction phase. The project is invested and constructed by China Overseas Energy Investment Limited, with a total investment of 307 million US dollars. It is the first project launched under the framework agreement between the governments of China and Kazakhstan, and is expected to be put into operation in 2027, generating approximately 674 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually.

300 MW integrated photovoltaic energy storage

The project has an installed capacity of 300 megawatts and is equipped with an energy storage system. Akim from Turkestan region stated that the local natural climate conditions are extremely favorable for the development of alternative energy. The power station will not only strengthen the regional energy infrastructure, but also enhance the region's investment attractiveness to international investors. The government and relevant departments provide comprehensive support for the implementation of the project.

Create 500 job opportunities

The construction phase will create approximately 500 job opportunities. The earthwork project has been fully completed, and office space, residential buildings, and storage buildings have been built one after another. The installation of major equipment has begun. The Deputy General Manager of China Overseas Energy Investment Limited stated that the company will work together with its partners to construct according to high standards. This project is part of China Overseas Energy Investment Limited's layout in Kazakhstan, which has previously announced plans to build a 500 MW wind power plant in the Karaganda region. The company's total investment in Kazakhstan will exceed $1 billion. Kazakhstan's renewable energy accounts for nearly 7%

At present, the proportion of renewable energy in power generation in Kazakhstan is close to 7%, with wind farms providing the largest amount of electricity generation. The project will hold a time capsule placement ceremony in December 2025, after which the earthwork and supporting facilities construction will be completed.
