Recently, a consortium led by China Power Construction Corporation (referred to as "PowerChina") successfully won the bid for the EPC general contracting project of Xingtai Pumped Storage Power Station, with a bid amount exceeding 4.9 billion yuan and a total installed capacity of 1200 megawatts. The implementation of this major cooperation is not only another benchmark achievement of China Electric Power Construction in the field of pumped storage, but also injects strong impetus into the optimization of energy structure and green and low-carbon transformation in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region.

A an important peak shaving, valley filling, energy storage and supply guarantee facility for the Beijing Tianjin Hebei power grid, Xingtai Pumped Storage Power Station plans to install four 300 MW reversible water pump turbine generator units, with an estimated total construction period of about 66 months. After the completion of the project, it will fully utilize the multiple functions of pumped storage as a "stabilizer", "regulator", and "power bank", achieving an annual power generation of about 1.2 billion kilowatt hours and an annual pumped electricity of about 1.6 billion kilowatt hours.
