On October 30th local time in Fiji, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Veikoba residential area construction project undertaken by China Railway First Group was held in Suva, the capital of Fiji. More than 300 people attended the groundbreaking ceremony, including Hon. Maciu Nalumisa, Minister of Housing and Local Government of Fiji, Sereana Qoro, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fiji Housing Authority, Isikeli Navuda, General Manager, officials and local residents representatives of Fiji Housing Authority, relevant persons in charge of China Railway First Group Southeast Asia Branch, Fiji Company, and project participating employees, to witness this important moment of China Fiji infrastructure cooperation.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, Minister Machu Nalumisa announced the official start of the project. In his speech, he stated that the Veikoba residential area project is a key livelihood project in Fiji. After completion, it will effectively alleviate the housing crisis in Suva and inject strong impetus into improving living conditions and enhancing the quality of life for local families. He also thanks China Railway First Group, Fiji Housing Authority, and other key partners for their support and collaboration in promoting the implementation of the project.

It is understood that this project is the largest livelihood project implemented by the Fiji Ministry of Housing in recent years, and after completion, it will solve housing problems for more than 580 local residents. As the contractor of this project, China Railway First Group will adhere to the corporate spirit of "integrity and innovation, striving for excellence", ensure the safe, high-quality and efficient delivery of this project, and make due contributions to the friendship between China and Fiji.

The Veikoba residential area construction project is located in Suva, Fiji Delavalleu Nasinu Vicoba, with an area of 42 hectares, mainly involves the construction of double surface asphalt roads, excavation and filling, culvert pipes, concrete surface road engineering, water supply pipelines, sewage pipelines, sewage pumping stations and related ancillary facilities.
