On Bubiyan Island, located in the northeast corner of the province of Kowtjehra, salty sea winds carry heat waves and blow over a land that is about to boil. How to build dreams in stages for super engineering?  

The project will be promoted in three phases, with the first phase leading the construction of a 1200 meter long container terminal with an annual designed throughput capacity of 2.7 million TEUs; The second and third phases will add 14 berths, with a total throughput exceeding 8 million TEUs. Kuwait's Minister of Public Works, Nora Mashaan, emphasized at the ceremony that the port adopts an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Integrated) general contracting model, led by Chen Zhong, Deputy General Manager of China Communications Construction Corporation, to ensure efficient implementation.  

Why is it said to be the new engine of Kuwait's economy?  

According to Kuwait's "Vision 2035" plan, the country urgently needs to break free from oil dependence and develop a diversified economy. After the completion of the Great Mubarak Port, not only will logistics efficiency be improved, but it will also drive chain industries such as shipping services and warehousing processing, creating a large number of jobs. The Prime Minister of Kuwait pointed out that the port can expand the country's voice in international trade, transforming it from an "energy exporting country" to a "regional logistics hub".  

The strategic significance behind China Science and Technology Cooperation

This signing is a deep fit between the the Belt and Road Initiative and Kuwait's national strategy.
