On January 19th, during the severe cold season in the northwest border of China, the 16000P computing power project in the Tuoli Cluster of Xinjiang Tacheng Intelligent Computing Industry, with a total investment of about 2.2 billion yuan, officially broke ground. This not only means that the Tacheng area in Xinjiang has taken a solid step towards the forefront of the digital economy, but also demonstrates the local determination to overcome the harsh winter climate and promote the implementation of major projects. The project is expected to be completed within about five months and will become an important engine for promoting regional industrial upgrading.

Overview of Major Projects

The project is located in Tori County, Tacheng Prefecture, Xinjiang, with a total investment of approximately 2.2 billion yuan. It plans to construct a data center room with an area of 3175 square meters. The project will strictly follow the domestic A-level data center standards for construction, with a total designed cabinet power of 10544 kilowatts. Its core computing power servers will mainly use Nvidia equipment to ensure the provision of high-quality computing power. The general contractor of the project is Chengdu Information Technology Co., Ltd. of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, jointly invested and constructed by Sichuan Davos Ecological Technology Co., Ltd., Zhonghui Ningji Private Equity Fund and other enterprises. The project is scheduled to commence on January 19, 2026, with the aim of completing the main construction and entering the power on testing phase within five months.

Build a 16000P computing hub

After the completion of the project, it will form an intelligent computing power scale of up to 16000P, providing strong infrastructure support for cutting-edge industries such as artificial intelligence training and reasoning, big data analysis, and cloud computing. According to relevant local departments, this intelligent computing center is expected to create nearly 500 million yuan in annual output value. Its core goal is to attract and gather upstream and downstream enterprises in the digital industry chain, promote the cluster development of the digital industry in Tacheng and even Xinjiang, effectively drive the optimization of regional economic structure and industrial transformation and upgrading, and inject new momentum into high-quality development. Winter construction guarantee progress

At the time of project commencement, it was the coldest season in the Tacheng area of Xinjiang, where the lowest temperature could reach minus 20 degrees Celsius or even lower, posing severe challenges to construction. In response to this, Yang Zhen, member of the Standing Committee of the County Committee and Executive Deputy County Mayor of Tori County, emphasized at the groundbreaking ceremony that the project organizing unit must turn winter idleness into winter busyness, scientifically formulate construction plans, carefully organize construction forces, and ensure that all work during the winter construction period is busy, orderly, safe, and efficient. He requested all relevant departments at all levels in the county to fully cooperate, do a good job in service guarantee, and jointly ensure that this key project can be completed, put into operation, and generate benefits as soon as possible, making the project one of the benchmarks for the development of digital economy in the western region.Editor/Gao Xue
