In 2025, China's wind and solar power generation industries will continue to maintain a high-speed development trend, deliver impressive results, achieve multiple breakthroughs in installed capacity and electricity contribution, inject strong impetus into the green transformation of energy structure, and steadily promote the "dual carbon" goal.

The installed capacity has reached a new peak, achieving a historic leap.

By 2025, the newly installed capacity of wind and solar power in China will exceed 430 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 22.0%, once again breaking historical records. Among them, the newly installed capacity of wind power is 120 million kilowatts, and the newly installed capacity of solar power is 318 million kilowatts. The two major new energy varieties are working together to demonstrate the resilience of industrial development. By the end of 2025, the cumulative grid connected installed capacity of wind and solar power in China will reach 1.84 billion kilowatts, accounting for 47.3% of the total installed capacity of power generation in the country, surpassing the proportion of thermal power installed capacity in history. This marks the official transition of China's power system from fossil fuel dominated to clean energy led, and marks a key turning point in the transformation of energy structure.

The "green content" of electricity consumption continues to increase, and the green supply capacity is steadily enhancing.

By 2025, the national wind and solar power generation will increase by 25% year-on-year, accounting for 22% of the total national power generation. Green electricity has become the core support for the increase in electricity consumption in China. The rapid growth of wind and solar power generation has effectively driven the proportion of renewable energy in the total power generation in China to nearly 40%, further optimizing the power supply structure, reducing fossil energy consumption and carbon emissions, practicing the concept of green and low-carbon development, and providing strong support for the implementation of the target of non fossil energy consumption proportion in the 14th Five Year Plan.

Since the 14th Five Year Plan, China's new energy development, represented by wind and solar power, has reached an unprecedented speed. The cumulative installed capacity has reached 3.4 times that of the end of 2020, and the contribution of transformation has become increasingly prominent. The proportion of electricity has increased by more than 12 percentage points, successfully completing the target tasks of various projects in the 14th Five Year Plan, achieving large-scale and high proportion leapfrog development, and laying a solid foundation for achieving carbon peak and independent contribution goals by 2035 as scheduled before 2030.(This article is from the official website www.seetao.com of Jian Dao.
