On August 18, 2022, Anhui Guoke Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was officially established in Hefei High tech Zone. At the construction site of Guoke Energy's 30GWh new energy battery production base project (Phase I), machines roared and tower cranes waved their long arms. More than 40 builders stood firm on the construction front line, practicing their mission with practical work and writing responsibility with perseverance.

The project construction schedule is tight and the tasks are heavy. During the Spring Festival, we cannot slack off at all. "Chang Wen, the project manager of the Lanzhou project department of China Machinery International Engineering Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd., shuttled through the construction area to inspect the quality of steel structure hoisting and construction safety. He introduced that at present, more than 40 workers are sticking to the front line. During the Spring Festival, except for a brief rest on New Year's Eve and the first day of the lunar new year, all staff are on duty to promote the construction of the project.

Wang Chengzheng, the leader of the construction team at Guoke Energy Co., Ltd., stopped to check the construction drawings and occasionally communicated with the workers about the construction details. As the "vanguard" of project construction, he remained steadfast on the front line throughout the entire process, witnessing every step of the project from early preparation to now entering the critical stage. The industrial layout speed of Guoke Energy is extremely fast, and this new energy dark horse is racing in the energy storage market, commanding the wind and rain. In addition to the Lanzhou base, Guoke Energy has also established multiple battery production bases in Chuzhou, Anqing, Anhui, and Jiangbei New Area in Nanjing.

The total investment of Chuzhou base is 9.7 billion yuan, with a planned production capacity of 21GWh, mainly producing energy storage and power batteries. The project will be launched in March 2023 and put into operation in December. After reaching full production capacity, it is expected to have an annual output value of 15 billion yuan.

The Anqing base covers an area of 165 acres and is planned to be a 10GWh intelligent manufacturing base for energy storage batteries. The production line adopts a fully automated intelligent factory design. In December 2025, the Anqing base successfully held a production ceremony, with three main types of battery cells: 102Ah, 314Ah, and 587Ah.

The Nanjing Jiangbei New Area base is planned to have a headquarters research and development and an annual production base for 30GWh energy storage batteries. In July 2024, Nanjing Jiangbei New Area and Anhui Guoke established a 30GWh energy storage battery base here. Hu Xiaoming stated that the comprehensive strength of the energy storage industry cluster in the new area is gradually improving, and green has become a distinctive symbol of the development of Nanjing's new main city.

The total planned annual production capacity of the four major bases is close to 100 GWh, and Guoke Energy is building a huge production capacity network covering East China and radiating northwest at an astonishing speed.

Future Prospects

The total planned production capacity of the Guoke Energy Lanzhou Base project is 30GWh/year, which will be constructed in three phases. The first phase will invest 2.8 billion yuan, and after completion, it will form an annual production capacity of 10GWh lithium iron phosphate energy storage cells, including 7GWh 314Ah square aluminum shell cells and 3GWh 30Ah cylindrical cells.

After the project is put into operation, it will not only drive employment for about 1000 people, but also radiate the demand for upstream and downstream industries such as lithium iron phosphate and graphite negative electrodes, helping to form a new energy battery industry cluster with Lanzhou New Area as the core and radiating to the northwest.

By deeply linking with existing industries in the park, the comprehensive logistics and supply chain costs of battery enterprises in the northwest region will be significantly reduced, providing key support for Gansu Province to build a national important new energy and new material industry base.
