On the morning of April 15, 2026, in Hongshan Logistics Park, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, a piece of red silk slowly fell from the plaque of the Liaoning Mongolia Tiehai Intermodal Transport Chifeng International Land Port. The service radius of Liaoning Port Group officially extends from the Bohai Bay to the hinterland of eastern Mongolia. From now on, foreign trade enterprises in Chifeng no longer have to travel hundreds of kilometers to the port to queue up for customs clearance, and can complete a complete set of overseas procedures at their doorstep.

Mengdong goods can be shipped out on site
The landing of Chifeng International Land Port has enabled local enterprises to directly possess port functions. The export goods can complete the full set of procedures such as booking, customs declaration, and issuing bills of lading in Chifeng, and then directly arrive at the port under Liaogang Group for loading via a special railway train. Under the single bill of lading system for sea rail intermodal transportation, enterprises only need to hold one intermodal bill of lading, without the need for multiple connections between ports and inland areas, resulting in a significant reduction in overall logistics costs.

Three party signing locks in the main channel
On the day of unveiling, Liaogang Group, China Railway Shenyang Bureau Group, and Chifeng Municipal Government jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation. The three parties agreed to collaborate in expanding channels, reducing freight rates, and encrypting train schedules. In 2025, the total import and export volume of foreign trade in Chifeng increased by 10.9% year-on-year, ranking second in Inner Mongolia in terms of total volume. The strong source of goods provides confidence for the high-frequency opening of trains.

Opening the bridgehead to the north and forming it
The eastern region of Mongolia is adjacent to Russia and Mongolia, and is a strategic pivot for China's northward opening up. The opening of Chifeng International Land Port has formed a deep linkage with border ports such as Manzhouli and Erenhot, and the framework of a Northeast sea land corridor from Liaoning coastal ports to Russia, Mongolia, and Europe through eastern Mongolia has become increasingly clear. Liaogang Group has simultaneously established a customer service center in Chifeng, moving the port service window forward to the source of goods, and the collaborative gears between inland and coastal areas have begun to bite.Editor/Gao Xue
