In June, a paper engineering general contract was signed in Changfeng County, Hefei City, Anhui Province, allowing a state-owned engineering giant that has been fighting overseas for many years to officially join hands with cutting-edge physical and electrochemical hybrid energy storage technology. On June 21, 2026, CAMCE announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary IPPR had signed an EPC contract with Anhui Yuankang Storage and Charging New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. for a 100MW/102MWh independent hybrid energy storage power station in Changfeng County, Hefei City, Anhui Province, with a total price of 1127.38 million yuan, accounting for approximately 9.75% of CAMCE's total operating revenue of 11.5675 billion yuan in 2025. This provisional total price contract will be adjusted based on the construction drawing budget prepared by a third-party cost consulting agency commissioned by the employer, covering the entire process of survey and design, equipment supply, construction, testing, commissioning, inspection and acceptance. The project period is 244 days from the date of commencement.

Billion dollar large order falls into Changfeng
The project is located in Hefei City, Anhui Province, with a construction scale of 100MW/102MWh independent hybrid energy storage power station. The so-called independent energy storage refers to energy storage facilities that are not directly bound to the new energy generation side and can independently participate in auxiliary services such as peak shaving and frequency regulation in the electricity market. The contract amount of 1127.38 million yuan consists of design fees, equipment purchase fees, and construction and installation engineering fees, which will be paid by the employer in installments according to the agreed milestones. CAMCE stated that the performance of this contract does not affect the company's business independence and will not form dependence on the counterparty, but will have a positive impact on the company's current and future performance.

Hybrid strategy of flywheel and lithium battery
This project adopts an independent hybrid energy storage technology route - combining flywheel energy storage with lithium iron phosphate electrochemical energy storage. Flywheel energy storage has millisecond level response speed and ultra long cycle life, and is skilled in short-term high-frequency power regulation; Lithium batteries have high energy density and are suitable for long-term energy support. The two complement each other and can provide millisecond level frequency regulation and large capacity storage services for the power grid simultaneously.
The project owner Anhui Yuankong Storage and Charging New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. was established in May 2024 with a registered capital of 5.77 million yuan. It is a subsidiary of Yuandian (Beijing) Flywheel Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., which focuses on the research and industrialization of magnetic levitation flywheel energy storage technology. The latter has already laid out in scenarios such as grid side frequency regulation, thermal power plant flexibility transformation, and rail transit energy recovery.
In recent years, Changfeng County has also accelerated the introduction of physical energy storage projects. In early 2026, the local area signed a 100 megawatt level magnetic levitation flywheel energy storage frequency modulation power station. The landing of the hybrid energy storage EPC is another substantial progress in its new energy storage industry cluster.

The New Energy Transformation of State owned Enterprise Engineering Companies
CAMCE is a subsidiary of the state-owned enterprise China Machinery Industry Group, formerly known as the Complete Engineering Department of China Engineering and Agricultural Machinery Import and Export Corporation established in 1982. It was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2006 and has long been engaged in international engineering contracting. In recent years, the company has established a development pattern that integrates the international business capabilities of its headquarters, with the top-notch design consulting capabilities of its wholly-owned subsidiary IPPR and the advanced equipment research and development manufacturing capabilities of Beijing Crane Transport Machinery Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. as its two wings. It actively extends to domestic high value-added fields such as new energy and data centers.keywords:Engineering infrastructure
The company stated that undertaking the EPC of hybrid energy storage power plants this time is conducive to exploring new hybrid energy storage businesses, improving the layout of the new energy sector, and is in line with the national energy development plan and the company's medium - and long-term strategy. Of course, contract execution may still be affected by force majeure factors such as regulatory and policy adjustments, macroeconomic fluctuations, etc., and continuous attention should be paid to the progress of subsequent performance.Editor/Yang Meiling
