The Henan land port system welcomes a new operator. On June 2, 2026, Henan Zhongyu Multimodal Transport Co., Ltd. was unveiled and established in Zhengzhou, fully owned by the provincial backbone enterprise Zhongyu International Port Group. On the day of its establishment, the first batch of intermodal transportation products including rail, rail, and sea transportation were released, and strategic cooperation agreements were signed with Shangang Land Sea, Yantian Port Kashgar Comprehensive Bonded Zone, China Logistics Group, and Zhongchu Zhiyun, covering sea, road, air, network freight, and supply chain finance.

Land ports need their own operators

Although Henan's multimodal transportation ranks first in the country, it has multiple national firsts such as the Zhengzhou Assembly Center for China Europe freight trains and pilot projects for aviation electronic freight. Nine reform cases have been selected as innovative achievements in the free trade zone system. But the core weaknesses are also evident: market entities are scattered and weak, and there is a lack of multimodal transport operators with full chain integration capabilities and international influence.

The new company is positioned as a multimodal transport operator and end-to-end integrated logistics service integrator, precisely to fill this gap. Its parent company, Zhongyu Port Group, is the only provincial-level state-owned sole proprietorship enterprise engaged in modern logistics industry in the province. It coordinates the development of international freight trains and land port trains in the province. The new company will rely on this provincial-level state-owned platform to promote the upgrading of Henan Land Port from a channel operator to a full-service logistics operator.

From China Europe freight trains to global networks

The new company will focus on three directions: firstly, deepening the coordination of air, rail, public transportation, and water transportation, and building an international logistics network based in Henan and radiating globally; Secondly, we will tap into the potential of China Europe freight trains, promote the normalization of cross Caspian and Black Sea routes, and enhance cross-border supply chain service capabilities; The third is to promote innovation in intermodal transportation products and upgrade digital platforms, to coordinate transportation capacity scheduling through a unified platform and improve the overall service quality.
