On June 9, 2026, Song Hongkun, Deputy Director of the National Energy Administration of China, met with Mohammed Qatari, President of Saudi Aramco, in Beijing. Both sides exchanged views on international energy security and China Saudi Arabia oil and gas cooperation.

Song Hongkun stated that Saudi Aramco is one of the most important crude oil production and supply companies in the world. Chinese companies have maintained a long-term and stable cooperative relationship with Saudi Aramco, achieving positive cooperation results in various fields such as crude oil trading and refining projects. We hope that enterprises from both China and Saudi Arabia can strengthen exchanges, respond to risks prudently, and continuously deepen cooperation.

Mohammed Qatari stated that Saudi Aramco attaches great importance to the Chinese market and is willing to continue promoting cooperation in refining and oil reserves within China, providing a guarantee for stable crude oil supply to China.
