When the morning sun shines at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains, a handshake about the "digital future" is quietly changing the industrial map between China and Central Asia in Urumqi. On June 23rd, experts from the field of national information technology standardization and representatives from Urumqi's equipment manufacturing industry gathered together to witness the establishment of the National Beacon Committee's Manufacturing Digital Transformation Standard Working Group for Central Asian Standard Application. This is not only the convening of a conference, but also the official landing of the first professional collaboration platform for digitalization standards in the manufacturing industry in Central Asia. From then on, manufacturing cooperation across the Eurasian continent has a unified 'technical language'.

Standard breaking

For a long time, China and Central Asian countries have often faced "language barriers" in the digital transformation of manufacturing due to inconsistent standards. The special task force established this time is the key to solving this difficult problem. Liu Xiangang, Secretary General of the National Beacon Committee and Party Secretary of the China Electronics Standardization Institute, introduced that the special group will be committed to accurately matching China's successful practices in the field of digital transformation with the actual needs of Central Asian countries. By conducting mutual recognition of standards, localized adaptation, and joint verification, the platform will thoroughly connect the transmission chain of "technology standards industry", allowing data to run more and enterprises to avoid detours, achieving cross-border sharing and seamless implementation of standard achievements.

System foundation building

The establishment of rules requires solid system support. As the leader of the special group, Yang Sen, the president of the Urumqi Equipment Manufacturing Industry Development Promotion Association, stated that during the meeting, the working group has started to sort out and improve relevant technical standards. In the future, a full process standard system covering enterprise diagnosis, transformation implementation, and effectiveness evaluation will gradually take shape. This not only means that the factory equipment in the region can "talk", but also means that every link from top-level design to grassroots execution will have rules to follow. Wang Jianwei, Vice President and Executive Secretary General of the China Electronic Information Industry Federation, emphasized that we will take mature domestic industry standards as a starting point, continuously optimize the standard system, and promote cooperation between the two sides from single point breakthroughs to deep integration.

Surrounding radiation

As the core area of the joint construction of the the Belt and Road, Xinjiang plays a crucial role in this cooperation. Cheng Duofu, member of the Party Group and Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Information Technology of the Autonomous Region, stated that he will make every effort to do a good job in local guarantee work, coordinate industrial resources in various prefectures and cities, and open up rich standard landing test scenarios. Relying on its unique port policy advantages, Xinjiang not only needs to become a standard user, but also a demonstration window for "China Central Asia Digital Intelligence Standard Cooperation". With the continuous improvement of platform functions, this digital network originating from Urumqi will effectively drive the manufacturing industry in the entire Central Asian region towards high-end, intelligent, and green development.Editor/Yang Meiling
