A signing event held in Beijing recently marked the beginning of a new chapter in the development of green aviation. Air China Cargo and China Aviation Oil (Group) Corporation have been deeply involved in the field of sustainable aviation fuel for many years. In 2022, they completed the first commercial flight of domestic cargo aircraft using sustainable aviation fuel. After multiple rounds of scenario practice, they have built a complete industrial closed loop. This special cooperation will completely change the fragmented pilot model and promote large-scale low-carbon development in the industry.

Years of deep cultivation have laid a solid foundation for cooperation

Air China Cargo is the only domestic cargo airline carrying the national flag, with a long-term focus on the low-carbon logistics sector, boasting global routes and stable cargo sources. China Aviation Oil (Group) Corporation possesses the full-chain supporting capabilities for sustainable aviation fuel, excelling in supply, refueling, traceability, and rights verification. The two parties have previously advanced the Spark Project, which has facilitated the entire process of fuel application rights transfer and customer subscription, and have continuously implemented green flight pilot projects for international cargo transportation, laying a solid and deep foundation for cooperation.

Long-term cooperation has entered a new stage

The signing ceremony in Beijing broke away from the previous single-project cooperation model, promoting the normalized commercialization of sustainable aviation fuel. Keywords: SAF、aviation low-carbon transformation

Both parties will subsequently engage in comprehensive collaboration centered on fuel security, green freight product rights trading, supply chain innovation, and resource sharing, aiming to assist the air cargo industry in steadily completing its low-carbon transformation and establish a benchmark for the large-scale application of sustainable fuels in domestic aviation.Editor/Min Jing
