The transformation of new energy in the Middle East has given rise to a massive demand for energy storage. Domestic energy storage equipment companies continue to win local heavyweight projects, opening up high-end overseas markets with their heat-resistant and wind resistant hard core technology, accelerating the low-carbon transformation process of regional new energy.

Middle Eastern countries are accelerating their transition away from fossil energy dependence, with large-scale long-term energy storage becoming a standard feature for new energy bases. After landing a 7.8GWh energy storage project in Saudi Arabia, SUNGROW has once again won a large order for 7.5GWh energy storage in the United Arab Emirates, working together with local state-owned new energy enterprises to build a benchmark project. This project, combined with the previous Saudi project with a total scale of over 15GWh, marks the company's achievement of contiguous scale layout in the Middle East energy storage market.

Leading project volume in the industry

This 7.5GWh project only accounts for one eighth of SUNGROW's 2026 energy storage shipment target of over 60GWh, with 3.44 million 684Ah stacked battery cells, and an energy density increase of more than 10% compared to traditional solutions. The project has two global pioneering positions, which can achieve 8-hour charging and 16 hour long discharging, ensuring uninterrupted and stable power supply to the grid. It is planned to be connected to the grid by 2027, reducing carbon emissions by 5.7 million tons per year.

Highlight the urgent need for regional energy storage

Middle Eastern electricity is highly dependent on fossil fuels, with an average annual increase of nearly 4% in electricity demand. In the UAE, air conditioning electricity accounts for 60-70% of peak load during summer, and there is a significant day night gap in photovoltaic power generation. Large scale distribution and storage is a mandatory requirement for development. Combined with the long-term energy transformation policies of various countries, the demand for energy storage in local power grids continues to rise. In the first quarter of this year, the total overseas energy storage orders of domestic enterprises reached 104.63GWh, and the Middle East has become a core incremental market.

Hardcore technology seizes overseas markets

The high temperature and sandstorm environment in the desert imposes strict requirements on equipment performance. SUNGROW supply is equipped with the PowerTitan3.0 liquid cooled energy storage system, which adopts multiple optimized designs and can operate stably without derating in a high temperature environment of 55 degrees Celsius. Keywords: Middle East energy storage、 overseas new energy

Currently, multiple domestic energy storage companies are simultaneously deepening their cultivation in the Middle East market, extending from equipment supply to local factory construction, and the competitiveness of the domestic energy storage industry chain continues to improve locally.Editor/Min Jing
