Recently, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and the Natural Energy Research Institute of Gansu Province jointly launched a solar energy application technology training course in Lanzhou. Eighteen industry practitioners from nine African countries, including Algeria and Ethiopia, came from afar to participate in the learning.
The African continent has abundant sunshine resources but lacks mature photovoltaic operation and system construction talents. The upgrading of local industries has long been constrained by technological shortcomings. China relies on its experience in the mature photovoltaic industry chain to build practical classrooms, fill the technical gap for overseas students, and build a green technology interconnection bridge across mountains and seas.

Empowering through practical teaching of technology
The training focuses on key areas of the entire solar energy industry chain, offering multiple practical courses covering industry policies, photovoltaic system design, international standard components, testing, operation and maintenance, integrated solar thermal energy storage, and other related topics. Combining teaching with on-site practical experience and sharing of development experiences from various countries, we aim to comprehensively strengthen students' professional practical abilities. The representative of the Director General of the Industrial Development Organization delivered a video speech stating that the climate crisis is a common problem for all mankind. This cooperation integrates China's industrial experience, international organizational resources, and Africa's development needs to form a replicable cooperation model that can be used as a reference for various regions and industries.

South South cooperation broadens the path of green development
Africa has abundant solar energy reserves and vast development space. Cultivating local technical talents is the core lever to implement sustainable development goals and ensure sustainable clean energy supply for all. This training is funded by the Chinese side to support the implementation of the Industrial Development Organization project, which is a landmark practice of South South and trilateral industrial cooperation, effectively deepening the practical cooperation in clean energy between China and Africa. Keywords: South South industrial cooperation、green energy transformation
In the future, the Industrial Development Organization will continue to collaborate with China and the vast number of developing countries in the south, deepen the work of cultivating talents and improving the quality of industries for green technology delivery, and help steadily promote the global low-carbon transformation, and implement the requirements of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.Editor/Min Jing
