At 17:30 Beijing time on July 4, 2026, Yuanxin Satellite launched 18 low orbit broadband satellites into their designated orbits using the Long March 6A carrier rocket at the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center. All satellites were in normal condition, and the number of Qianfan network satellites climbed to 218.

There is a satellite with a very special name in this mission. Yuanxin Satellite and Ping An Property and Casualty Insurance have established a brand linkage, naming the SS GEN1-257 satellite Ping An 24. Ping An 24 symbolizes coverage of 24 time zones worldwide without any dead corners, non-stop 24 solar terms throughout the year, and instant response 24 hours a day. The name directly incorporates the service concept into the satellite number.

Qianfan Constellation Network Accelerates, Further Reaching Global Coverage

Qianfan Constellation is the core project of domestic LEO broadband satellite Internet, and Yuanxin Satellite is promoting networking at the pace of nearly one arrow per month. From the first few experimental stars to 218 currently in orbit, the constellation density is rapidly increasing. The advantages of low Earth orbit satellites lie in low latency and large bandwidth, which can effectively supplement the coverage of oceans, deserts, and mountainous areas that are not covered by ground 5G signals. In the future, they will directly serve aviation and navigation, remote area communication, emergency disaster relief, and other scenarios.

Business cooperation model enables satellites to fly in new ways

The naming of Ping An 24 is not just for brand marketing, but also reveals a new approach for commercial monetization of Yuanxin Satellite. Operations such as satellite naming and brand co branding can help companies find new sources of revenue beyond launch costs, and also provide more non aerospace companies with opportunities to reach users through satellites. As the Thousand Sails constellation continues to expand, the space for such commercial cooperation will only continue to grow.Editor/Cheng Liting
