Recently, Gotion High tech, headquartered in Waigang Town, Shanghai, has officially started construction on the Lower Wonga integrated solar energy storage project in Australia. This is a key breakthrough for Gotion High tech in the high-end Australian market. The project is located in Queensland and plans to construct a 380MWdc photovoltaic power station with a 281MW/843MWh energy storage system. It is currently one of the largest photovoltaic direct current coupling projects in Australia and is expected to be connected to the grid and put into operation by the end of 2028.

DC coupling technology solves local power grid pain points

Queensland has long faced challenges such as curtailment of solar power, power grid fluctuations, and high construction and operation costs. In traditional solar energy storage projects, photovoltaics and energy storage are two independent lines, and the conversion loss of electricity back and forth is not small. The DC coupling technology independently developed by Guoxuan High tech is equivalent to building a direct channel for photovoltaic panels and energy storage batteries, where the generated electricity is directly stored in the battery, greatly reducing power loss.

The project is equipped with a Qianyuan Intelligent Storage 5MWh energy storage system, which is matched with self-developed long cycle battery cells and meets the 25 year long-term operation requirements. It has obtained IEC certification and Australian grid access qualifications. After being put into operation, it can meet the annual electricity demand of about 126000 households, not only filling the gap of clean electricity, but also stabilizing the fluctuation of the power grid. The combination of Chinese technology and local implementation mode continues to deepen

Gotion High tech provides full process services for projects, from design and equipment supply to system integration and grid connection debugging. It adopts standardized prefabricated cabin design and cutting-edge battery management technology to deeply adapt to the requirements of the Australian electricity market. This construction is an important milestone in its deep cultivation of the high-end new energy market in Australia. In the future, it will continue to expand more benchmark new energy projects and accelerate its global layout.Editor/Cheng Liting
