On June 30, 2026, the 300000 kW/1.2 million kWh independent energy storage power station project in Wuchuan County, Hohhot City, was successfully launched. The project was invested and constructed by Inner Mongolia Wuchuan Qichu New Energy Co., Ltd. and is located 1.2 kilometers south of Hongquan in West Ulan Bulang Town, Wuchuan County.

As a key energy storage supporting project in the region, it has targeted the actual pain points of high proportion new energy grid connection from the planning stage and designed more adaptable technical solutions.

Collaborative adaptation of dual technology routes to meet the needs of the power grid

The project did not adopt a single energy storage configuration mode, but innovatively combined grid connected and grid structured energy storage, which perfectly matches the operational characteristics of the power grid after large-scale integration of wind and photovoltaic power in the current region.

This combination mode can better suppress the fluctuation of new energy output, make up for the shortcomings of power grid consumption, and greatly improve the peak shaving ability of regional power grids without the need for large-scale renovation of existing power grid facilities, providing practical hardware support for the stable operation of local new power systems.

The synchronous implementation of green electricity consumption and carbon reduction benefits

Behind the project investors is a mixed ownership new energy high-tech enterprise established in 2022, jointly formed by private enterprises, National Energy Group, and Huaneng Fund, with mature experience in the construction and operation of energy storage projects. Keywords: energy storage power station, new energy project

After the power station is put into operation, it is expected to consume 530 million kilowatt hours of green electricity annually, which is equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 307000 tons per year. This can not only help find a consumption outlet for the large amount of abandoned wind and photovoltaic power in the local area, but also provide replicable reference samples for the implementation of energy storage projects in the central region of Inner Mongolia in the future.Editor/Cheng Liting
