The sea breeze brushes over global shipping routes in the early morning, and the low-key EPS is quietly weaving a huge shipbuilding network. After its previous layout, it has once again extended an olive branch to Chinese shipyards, taking in a new batch of container ships and LNG powered vehicle transport ships. Every large ship that has not yet been docked has already been quietly anchored for future voyages by long-term lease agreements.

EPS Shipping quietly expands its huge inventory of new ship construction orders, and has secured contracts for the construction of 13 ships, including 7 traditional fuel container ships with 6000 TEUs and 6 LNG dual fuel transport ships with 7050 standard parking spaces, from three domestic shipbuilding companies in China. The construction contracts for these ships were not signed recently. Two container ships were finalized in late June 2026, and all remaining ships were signed in the first half of 2026. Thirteen new ships were handed over to Hengli Heavy Industry, China Merchants Jinling Shipbuilding Nanjing Factory, and China Merchants Jinling Shipbuilding Weihai Factory for construction.
Seven container ships landed
EPS has once again chosen Hengli Heavy Industries to add container ship orders. After the new order was placed, the total number of 6000 TEU container ships ordered by the shipowner at this shipyard reached 15, and the first 8 ship orders were finalized at the end of last year. The construction price of ships has not been publicly announced yet, and industry shipbuilding practitioners estimate that the cost of building a single ship is about 80 million US dollars. Three of the ships are scheduled to be delivered in 2027, while the remaining 12 will be completed and delivered in batches in 2028. These 7 newly built container ships have all been confirmed for long-term leasing cooperation, and the identity and leasing details of the lessee have not been made public. Dafei Shipping, Taiping Shipping, and Maersk are all key market speculations about the lessee. EPS still has 7 6000 TEU container ships of the same specifications under construction at the Nanjing plant of China Merchants Jinling Shipbuilding. These ships will be ordered by 2025, with a delivery cycle covering the two years 2027 to 2028.

Six dual fuel vehicle ships
Six automobile transport ships powered by LNG dual fuel will be constructed by China Merchants Jinling Shipbuilding in Nanjing and Weihai, with three ships each. This vessel is equipped with shaft mounted power generation equipment, solar panels, energy storage battery packs, and shore power supporting devices. All vessels are scheduled to be delivered by 2029. Consistent with container ships, all six car transport ships have already secured leasing agreements in advance, and the leasing partners and duration have not been disclosed to the public.
