For a long time, the transportation facilities in the urban area of Maseru, the capital of Lesotho, have been inadequate and inconvenient, which has hindered urban development and public travel. In order to fill the gaps in local municipal infrastructure and improve people's livelihood conditions, the Mpilo Bridge project, constructed by POWERCHINA, has officially started construction. Representatives from multiple countries' governments and enterprises witnessed the project, making it an important livelihood project for China Laos infrastructure cooperation.

The project has started smoothly

Recently, the construction ceremony of the Lessotombilo Bridge project was held. The Deputy Prime Minister of Lesotho, relevant government ministers, Mayor of Maseru, and Chinese Ambassador to Lesotho attended the event. The project owner, supervisory unit, construction enterprise, and local community representatives jointly participated in the groundbreaking ceremony, marking the official start of the project construction.

Empowering urban development

The project is located in the core urban area of Maseru and is a key local infrastructure project for people's livelihood. The construction includes three bridges, one underground passage, and supporting connecting roads, as well as a complete set of ancillary facilities such as roadbed and pavement, drainage pipe network, lighting and greening, and traffic signs. After the completion of the project, it will effectively improve the urban transportation network, enhance the city's carrying capacity, and promote the steady development of the local economy and society.Editor/Min Jing
