The cold wind on the northeast coast of the Caspian Sea swept over the Kashagan oil field, and a steel skeleton was gradually taking shape on the open Gobi Desert. This is the largest offshore oil field in Kazakhstan and one of the largest oil and gas fields discovered in the world in the past decade. Nowadays, the construction progress of the first natural gas processing plant with an annual processing capacity of 1 billion cubic meters has exceeded 60%, and thousands of workers are racing against time, striving to connect this key link in the natural gas industry chain by the end of 2026.

Equipment delivery is nearing completion
The first natural gas processing plant in the Kashgar glycerol field is a core project in Kazakhstan to enhance the utilization capacity of associated gas. At present, the overall completion rate of the project has reached 61.4%, with 98% of the main equipment delivered. The construction and installation projects are progressing according to plan and are expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The factory has an annual processing capacity of 1 billion cubic meters. After being put into operation, it will effectively reduce the venting and combustion of associated gas in the oilfield, improve the comprehensive utilization rate of resources, and increase stable gas sources for domestic gas supply and exports.

Simultaneous advancement of pipeline survey
In addition to the Kashagan project, Kazakhstan is simultaneously advancing multiple natural gas transmission projects. The basic design of the second pipeline project of the Beinu Bozoi Shymkent natural gas trunk line has been fully completed, with 98% of the engineering survey completed and the overall design progress reaching 35.56%. This pipeline is an important channel connecting the western gas source with the southern consumption center. After completion, it will significantly enhance the national pipeline transmission and distribution capacity, and alleviate the seasonal gas shortage in the southern region. The pace of multi line construction marks Kazakhstan's accelerated transformation from resource development to full industry chain operation. Keywords: New energy news、New energy latest reports

The cooperation window continues to open
In the equipment procurement and engineering construction of this project, Chinese equipment suppliers have played an important role. Core equipment such as compressors, pipelines, valves, and separators made in China have been delivered in bulk to the site, and the delivery progress is synchronized with the civil engineering installation. With Kazakhstan planning to build the second Kashagan processing plant with an annual processing capacity of 2.5 billion cubic meters and the Karachaganak processing plant by 2030, a number of medium and long-term natural gas projects have been put on the agenda. For Chinese equipment manufacturers with cost advantages, delivery capabilities, and on-site service experience, this round of energy infrastructure expansion cycle is sending a clear signal of cooperation.Editor/Gao Xue
