After undergoing efficient and high-quality construction, the Kata Butgama area in Sri Lanka has welcomed a new water supply guarantee project. The livelihood project was implemented by CGC, and the construction and delivery were completed ahead of schedule, completely solving the local drinking water problem. With hardcore Chinese technology and enterprise responsibility, it injected lasting momentum into the development of Sri Lanka's livelihood and demonstrated the achievements of China Sri Lanka friendly cooperation.

The project was successfully completed and put into use

On July 10th local time, the Kata Butgama Water Supply Project in Sri Lanka held its completion and operation ceremony. The Sri Lankan President, the Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, and several local government officials attended the ceremony to witness the landing of this key livelihood project. The project is a key project of China Sri Lanka joint construction of the the Belt and Road. It was completed and handed over on June 30, 40 days ahead of the original construction period. The entire project adopts Chinese complete sets of technology, water treatment and electromechanical equipment, and automation control systems, relying on mature domestic construction experience to create high-quality water supply projects with high standards of construction, greatly improving the safety and operational efficiency of the local water supply system.

Benefiting people's livelihoods and supporting development

During the project construction period, Chinese enterprises actively practiced the concept of localized development, creating over 1000 job opportunities for the local people and helping them increase their income and start their own businesses. After the project is officially put into operation, it will provide safe and stable drinking water resources for over 90000 residents in the Tabut Gamma region, greatly improving the living conditions of local residents. Local government officials highly recognize the fulfillment of obligations by Chinese companies and affirm China's commitment and assistance during a critical period of development in Sri Lanka. The Chinese side will also continue to do a good job in the follow-up operation and maintenance of the project, maximize the value of livelihood engineering, and continue to empower Sri Lanka's livelihood improvement and economic development.
