China Power Construction installs Africa's largest gas turbine

The 3000 MW combined cycle power plant project in Akuayibom State, undertaken by China Power Construction Hubei Engineering Company, has reached a critical milestone of the safe and stable installation of the No. 3 gas turbine. The project covers 12 gas turbines, 6 steam turbines, 12 waste heat boilers, and supporting ancillary facilities. After completion, it will become the largest gas-fired power station in Africa. Faced with difficulties such as muddy terrain and transportation obstruction caused by continuous heavy rainfall during the rainy season, the project team scientifically dispatched and ensured that the gas turbine was accurately positioned in one go.

Deep cultivation of energy and port in harbor construction

The Lagos Lequi Deepwater Port, constructed by China Harbour, was officially handed over in June 2026 with a total investment of 1.5 billion US dollars. It obtained a 45 year franchise under the BOOT model and became a new gateway for maritime trade in West Africa. Winning the bid for the Enugu New City Road Network Project at the same time, promoting the implementation of Chinese standards. China Energy Engineering Corporation has signed multiple energy contracts, including the EPC of the 330 kV transmission line from Abia state to Anambra state, the general contracting of the 350 MW and 100 MW gas power stations in Bodo, and the repair project of the Omku gas turbine power station.
