On July 16, 2026, the X8151 China Europe freight train departed from Xi'an International Port Station and headed towards Duisburg, Germany, carrying goods such as car parts and daily necessities. 2026 marks the tenth anniversary of the unified brand operation of China Europe freight trains. According to data from China Railway Group, a total of 18559 China Europe (Asia) freight trains were operated in the first half of the year, sending 1.708 million TEUs of goods and maintaining a steady increase in both quantity and quality.

Xi'an has won eight consecutive championships

In the first half of the year, a total of 14544 trains were operated from 14 assembly centers, sending 1.389 million TEUs. Xi'an ranks first with 2615 trains and 256000 TEUs; The Chengdu Chongqing joint operation of 2454 trains and 245000 TEUs followed closely behind; Zhengzhou ranks third with 1719 trains and 168000 TEUs in operation.

Looking solely at the caliber of China Europe freight trains, 11186 trains were operated nationwide in the first half of the year, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%. Among them, Xi'an operates 2208 trains, Chengdu Chongqing 2053 trains, and Zhengzhou 1177 trains. Xi'an has been leading the country for 8 consecutive years, with about 12 trains running daily and an average of one train departing or arriving every 80 minutes.

Chengdu Chongqing overtakes Xi'an, Zhengzhou has obvious return advantages

In June, the national assembly center operated 2395 trains and sent 229000 TEUs. 413 trains (239 outbound and 174 return) were operated in Chengdu Chongqing this month, ranking first; Xi'an operates 409 trains (230 outbound and 179 return), ranking second. Keywords: Cross border trains, logistics trade

The most noteworthy is the return data - there were 198 return trains in Zhengzhou in June, which is more than twice as many as the 95 outbound trains, indicating that the China Europe freight trains are continuously evolving from one-way transportation to two-way balance. Behind this pattern change is the shift of China Europe freight trains from extensive expansion to refined operation.Editor/Cheng Liting
