Recently, within the Abu Dhabi Airport Free Zone, JD.com has officially signed an agreement for a modern logistics project covering an area of over 70000 square meters in cooperation with the local authorities. This construction site in the desert will transform into a super logistics hub integrating bonded and non bonded by 2028. For Dubai residents and merchants who have suffered from cross-border transportation delays, the once one week cross-border wait is being redefined by the Chinese speed of same day delivery and next day compounding.

Dual warehouse linkage reshapes delivery efficiency

JD.com has completed a critical logistics chassis upgrade in the United Arab Emirates. The newly launched Dubai No.2 intelligent warehouse and Jebel Ali free trade warehouse form a dual warehouse linkage, doubling the storage capacity and reducing operating costs by 30%. With this layout, the next day delivery coverage rate throughout the UAE has exceeded 90%, and the core urban area of Dubai has achieved same day delivery and fast returns and exchanges. The cross-border transportation time, which used to take a week, has been compressed to 1 to 2 days.

Overcoming pain points in vertical scenes one by one

In response to the pain points of slow cross-border transportation and long after-sales cycles of automotive parts, JD.com has established a thousand square meter regional center for automotive spare parts, managing thousands of types of spare parts products, achieving next day delivery of spare parts to the United Arab Emirates and weekly coverage of multiple Middle Eastern countries, and shortening the after-sales maintenance cycle by more than 7 times. In the field of consumer electronics, we provide full chain fulfillment services for domestic brands such as Honor, making the delivery and return of high-end digital products more efficient. Super hub radiates to the Middle East and North Africa

The newly launched Abu Dhabi project covers both bonded and non bonded warehouses, seamlessly connecting air, sea, and land transportation with the advantages of an airport hub. JD Dubai and Abu Dhabi have formed a dual core strategy, completely bidding farewell to the scattered and extensive traditional cross-border model, and fully replicating the mature domestic supply chain infrastructure, operational standards, and timeliness system to the United Arab Emirates, providing a foundation support for the long-term efficient operation of the Middle East market.Editor/Gao Xue
