Recently, Salesforce announced a $1 billion investment in Switzerland over the next five years. This timing is not a coincidence - Switzerland is simultaneously hosting the United Nations' first global dialogue on artificial intelligence governance, with representatives from 193 countries gathered in this neutral city. Choosing to place a heavy bet on an enterprise software giant at this time and place is both a business bet and a strategic platform.
Dual support of governance highlands and landing scenarios
Switzerland's choice is not surprising. This is the headquarters of the International Telecommunication Union and the World Economic Forum, and the Global Artificial Intelligence Summit will also be held in 2027. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff bluntly stated that Switzerland is the place where the world gathers and addresses its biggest challenges, "with global institutions, pioneering companies, and a deep tradition of innovation and trust.

But the investment logic of $1 billion is not only about governance narrative, but also about practical verification. European virtual care service provider Oviva utilizes Agentforce to independently process over 300000 customer messages per month, diverting 50% of consultation requests and 40% of operational support queries without manual intervention. Iconic bag manufacturer FREITAG deploys AI intelligent agent FRIDA, with customer satisfaction exceeding 95%.
The World Economic Forum will use Agentforce to build an intelligent agent concierge EVA during the 2026 Davos Annual Meeting, providing personalized services to over 3000 global leaders. Syngenta has embedded Agentforce into its sales process, freeing consultants from information gathering and allowing them to spend more time helping farmers.
The key leap from pilot to scale
The global daily active intelligent agent count is expected to soar from 28.6 million in 2025 to 79.4 million in 2026, and reach 2.216 billion by 2030. Salesforce has been deeply rooted in Switzerland for over 20 years, serving over 1000 customers, more than 100 partners, and supporting over 480 non-profit organizations. The company has launched a program in Switzerland to help women return to the workforce, with over 600 women participating and obtaining over 1000 certifications.

From investment scale to scenario implementation, from talent cultivation to ecological co construction, Salesforce is using Switzerland as a testing ground and springboard for European AI ambitions.Editor/Cheng Liting
