On July 20, 2026, Wang Weiming, the Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, disclosed a set of data at a press conference of the State Council Information Office: in the first half of the year, the export of wind turbines increased by 35.6% year-on-year, the export of lithium batteries increased by 37.6%, and the export of automobiles reached 5.096 million units, an increase of 65.3%.

As green energy equipment transitions from optional to mandatory, Made in China is redefining the supply chain logic of global energy transformation at its own pace.

Regional explosive power of wind turbine exports

Behind the national growth rate of 35.6% is the multiple growth of several provinces. In the first five months of 2026, the export of wind turbines and components in Shanxi Province reached 1.49 billion yuan, an increase of 28.6 times; The export of solar cells reached 1.45 billion yuan, an increase of 86.2%. In the first half of the year, the export of wind turbines in the province has climbed to 1.89 billion yuan, an increase of 32.9 times. In the first four months of 2026, the export of wind turbines and their components in Fujian Province reached 98.729 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 563.2%, with private enterprises contributing 99.7% of the market share. The combination of port advantages in coastal provinces and manufacturing capabilities in inland provinces is forming a dual engine pattern for wind turbine exports.

The overall trend of equipment industry going global

The growth of wind turbines is not an isolated case. In the first half of the year, the delivery value of equipment industry exports increased by 18.2% year-on-year, contributing nearly 50% to the growth of industrial exports. Wang Jun, Deputy Director General of the General Administration of Customs, attributed the fundamental reason for export growth to the precise adaptation of Chinese manufacturing to various global demands. Keywords: wind power, new energy

From Shanxi to Fujian, from wind power to lithium batteries, China's green energy equipment is shifting its overseas path from product output to supply chain output. As the global demand for green and low-carbon transformation continues to rise, the advantage of Chinese manufacturing has been upgraded from cost-effectiveness to full industry chain response speed, and the 35.6% growth rate of wind power equipment exports is a footnote to this round of upgrading.Editor/Cheng Liting
