On July 25, 2026, Waymo, a subsidiary of Alphabet, is exploring the possibility of withdrawing from its partnership with Uber. Waymo first partnered with Uber in May 2023 to launch a self driving taxi service in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. Subsequently, the two sides reached cooperation agreements in Austin and Atlanta, where Waymo vehicles can only be used through the Uber app, and Uber and partner Avomo jointly manage the fleet.

In May of this year, Uber and Waymo terminated their partnership in Phoenix after the agreement expired.Editor/Min Jing
