At a special press conference held in Beijing, relevant officials reviewed the development achievements of the China Europe freight train over the years and announced the direction of the 15th Five Year Plan construction. This Asia Europe logistics channel continues to play a role in stabilizing the supply chain, carrying two-way trade and civilian exchanges, and will achieve higher quality development around the four major systems in the future.

Abundant development achievements

As a landmark project of the the Belt and Road, China Europe Express has run more than 130000 trains in total, with a value of more than 520 billion dollars. The scale of operation has increased from 1702 trains in 2016 to 20022 trains in 2025, with an average annual growth rate of over 30%. The heavy container rate has remained at 100% for 46 consecutive months. The train connects 236 cities in 26 European countries, facilitating the exchange of household appliances, agricultural products and other commodities, effectively shortening logistics time, and deepening economic, trade and cultural exchanges along the route.
