On the evening of July 30, 2026 Beijing time, He Lifeng, the Chinese leader in China US economic and trade relations and Vice Premier of the State Council, held a video call with US leaders, US Treasury Secretary Besson, and Trade Representative Greer. The two sides discussed the implementation of the important consensus reached at the Beijing meeting between the heads of state of China and the United States, and had frank, in-depth, and constructive exchanges on maintaining stable economic and trade relations, expanding pragmatic cooperation, and properly addressing each other's concerns in the next stage.

The Chinese side expresses serious concern over the recent economic and trade restrictions imposed by the United States on China. Both sides agree to further leverage the role of the China US economic and trade consultation mechanism under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, strengthen communication, enhance trust and clarify doubts, expand cooperation, promote stable and positive China US economic and trade relations, and help build a constructive strategic and stable relationship between China and the United States.Editor/Min Jing
