In the first half of 2026, this port exported 1709 vehicles of wind power equipment, a year-on-year increase of 44.3%, reaching a historic high. Large scale equipment such as wind turbine blades and towers are continuously being sent from here to Central Asia, supporting more than 20 international cooperation projects such as Zanatas Phase II wind power and Heromset wind power.

The clearance process has been reduced from 12 items to 4 items

The wind power equipment is too wide and oversized, and the turning radius of transportation vehicles is large, making it difficult for ordinary customs clearance processes to meet the demand. Khorgos Customs has opened a special channel for large equipment to ensure that large equipment can go straight in and out. After the implementation of the highway port+local direct access mode, the number of export customs clearance procedures has been reduced from 12 to 4, and storage and replacement fees have significantly decreased.

Qian Yanni, a customs clearance officer at Xinjiang Feichi International Freight Forwarding Co., Ltd., felt the change: "The equipment was loaded on the same day and the customs clearance was completed the next day, greatly reducing the time cost." The export destinations were not only Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, but also European countries such as Poland, and the order volume continued to rise.

Joint efforts between China and Kazakhstan Customs

The head of the Road Supervision Section of Khorgos Customs publicized the introduction that the customs gave full play to the advantages of international cooperation at the border, opened a special channel with Kazakhstan Customs, and large equipment went straight in and out. In the first 11 months of 2025, the port of Khorgos has exported 948 vehicles of wind power equipment, with a considerable annual growth rate.
